For a day at the beach you can also go to the Atlantic Ocean. The Lac d'Hourtin-Carcans, the largest freshwater lake in France, is just four kilometres away. Every Thursday, and in July and August every Tuesday and Saturday, there's a market here. Follow the D3 and you'll be cycling to the centre in five minutes. Besides, it's certainly not a punishment to go into Hourtin for groceries. This is not a problem, because there is a supermarket half a kilometre from the campsite.
